Lecture Programme - Anna Gerber

Anna Gerber:
Co-founder Visual Editions + Creative Director Editions At Play.

Visual Editions is a London-based book publisher, launched in Winter 2010, co-founded by Anna Gerber and Britt Iversen.
'We publish books as cultural objects, we build digital literary landscapes and we create events that are all, in some way, about making Great Looking Stories.
We believe in celebrating books that tell stories in a visual way, creating new, surprising and delightful reading experiences, both on and off the screen. We call it visual writing.'

This is the first lecture of this year's lecture program at NUA. Held in Open we listened to Anna Gerber speak about this different books Visual Editions had published and how each book came to being.

I found her very easy to listen to and I really like the ideas for her books, THEY'RE MAD! It really nice to see someone challenging the boundaries of publishing both in the traditional sense and online. I'm really excited to see the Editions at Play website up and running (Linked here) which I think is an amazing idea. It makes me really happy to see that you and make different things and still make a profit. It just proves that the industry can move on and create new things.

I will be going to the library to have a look at some of these books, especially Tree of Codes!
